Laura Allred

- Affilitiation: College Park Scholars: Earth, Life, and Time Program
- Title of Project: Saving Lives at the Homeless Animal Rescue Team of Maine
- Nature of Project: Her mission was to provide an apporpriate service to the community while keeping along the lines of a zoology major. The mission of the Rescue Team was to take surrendered, abandoned, injured, and abused cats and kittens, and provie them with refuge, comfort and medical attention. Their ultimate goal is to place the cats into carefully picked homes.
- Benefits: It was a fun, learning experience. Laura commented that she was probably going to adopt a cat from the Homeless Animal Rescue Team.
- Pitfalls/Obstacles: The only obstacle was that the time spent at the intership took away from time at her job.
Angela Jackson

- Major: Zoology
- Affilitiation: College Park Scholars: Earth, Life, and Time Program
- Title of Project: Wildlife's Second Chance with Wildlife Rescue Inc.
- Nature of Project: Their misstion is to take in wildlife babies and sick animals and rehabilitate them so that they can return to the wild.
- Benefits: Angela got to have hands on experience, because she got to feed any of the animals that didn't have the possibility of getting rabies. Angela is planning on volunteering there again.
- Pitfalls/Obstacles: There weren't many obstacles because Gerda, the leader of the program, helped her out a lot. The long drive there was the only pitfall.
Daniel A. Rudolf

- Major: Criminology/Criminal Justice
- Affilitiation: College Park Scholars: Earth, Life, and Time
- Title of Project: The Paleozoic Biologic Set Pelecypods at the National Museum of Natural History
- Nature of Project: He organized the museum's collection of bivalves (i.e. oysters, mussles, etc.)
- Benefits: He learned how to catalog and identify different specimens of bivalves.
- Pitfalls/Obstacles: It was hard to identify fossils that weren't well preserved.
